Gum Treatment (Periodontal Treatment)
Periodontal disease, or gum disease, is the accumulation of plaque on the teeth witch contains bacteria and can irritate the gums, leading to redness, bleeding, and
inflammation. There are several stages of gum disease from early gum disease (Gingivitis) to advanced gum disease (Periodontitis)
The treatment for early gum disease is a procedure called Scaling and Root planning or “deep cleaning”. This procedure gently removes the plaque, calculus (tartar), and bacteria hiding on the surfaces of your teeth below the gum line.
